Analysis of pollutants in the work environment

In the workplace environment, various substances can lead to health-related problems. At IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, we assist in conducting measurements in the work environment to compare with occupational exposure limits, ensuring legal compliance and risk assessment. For example, measurements are carried out for dust, quartz, solvents, nitrogen oxides, levels of various organic substances, and metals.

Measurements are crucial for selecting the most effective actions. We use different types of measurements to assess the workplace environment. A significant portion of the measurements involves air pollution, but we also assess skin exposure in the workplace. We also map particle fractions using direct-reading instruments. Furthermore, we help provide the basis for risk assessment and systematic occupational health and safety work based on the results.

Analyses and tests are conducted in our analytical laboratory and are tailored to each assignment, based on your needs. Many of our measurement and analysis methods are accredited by Swedac External link, opens in new window. to SS-EN ISO / IEC 17025: 2018. For other methods, we adhere to equivalent quality routines.

Hire IVL for:

  • Measurement of air pollutants that your employees are exposed to during their work and how the levels vary over time
  • Analysis of how existing measures work, such as whether they effectively contain contaminants or if local exhaust ventilation captures them

  • Systematic occupational health and safety work and risk assessment
